The tree in the Parker Baby Co. logo has been part of our brand since the very beginning. But its story actually started years before Parker Baby Co. existed, on a stretch of road between Seward and Lincoln, Nebraska.
It Started With a Drive Through Nebraska
When Kirsten and Sam were dating in college, they frequently made the drive between Seward and Lincoln.
Along the way, there was a tree sitting by itself at the top of a hill. For some reason, it always stood out to them.
At first, Kirsten called it her tree. But eventually, it became their tree.
It turned into one of those little landmarks they looked for every time they made the drive. And if they happened to pass it at just the right time, it was even better.
Around dusk, with one of those incredible Nebraska sunsets in the background, the light would shine through the tree as they came up the hill, creating what almost looked like a halo around it.
It was simple, familiar and special to them.
From “Our Tree” to the Parker Baby Co. Tree
Years later, when Kirsten and Sam started Parker Baby Co., that tree came back to mind.
They were building a brand centered around babies, parents and family, and something about the tree just felt like the perfect fit.
Trees grow. They change through different seasons. Their roots deepen over time.
In a lot of ways, that felt fitting for the families Parker Baby Co. hoped to be a small part of.
So the tree that had been part of Kirsten and Sam’s story since their college days became part of Parker Baby Co.’s story, too.
11 Years Later
This October marks 11 years of Parker Baby Co., and that tree has been with us through all of it.
What started as a familiar landmark on a drive between Seward and Lincoln became the logo on diaper bags, baby products and packages sent to families across the country.
Before there was Parker Baby Co., there was simply Kirsten, Sam, a Nebraska sunset and their tree.
Eleven years later, it still feels like the perfect symbol for a brand built around growing families.
