My favorite part about the Holidays is how cozy and decorated my home gets. Growing up in a very Danish household, I learned at a young age that this cozy feeling can actually stick around all year! It's called 'hygge' and we are going to break it down. Hygge (hoo-gah) is a Danish word about coziness and surrounding yourself with the things that make life good. Kind of like a hug..hug-ah. 😉 It has no direct translation because it's more of feeling.
My wife, Kirsten, is notorious for buying Christmas gifts way too early. I wish I was kidding, but she came home from the store a couple weeks ago (in August) with Christmas gifts for our daughters. I always give her a hard time, but this year is different.
I don’t need to remind you of how our world has changed in 2020, but you may not have considered how the world has changed for brands like Parker Baby, and subsequently for you.
Last year, my husband and I spent the night of the Fourth of July in the ER and 5th of July in the Burn Center. While, this does not make us experts, the stories and people (and kids) I saw in there were enough to emphasize the importance of safety this Fourth of July - especially when little ones are involved.
Sam has the fondest and happiest memories connected to a very simple and delicious snack: Homemade Party Mix. He connects the smell, taste and crunch to holidays, family time, coming home from school on a special Friday and really to his own mom and nana. I absolutely love this special tradition snack that we have started to instill in our own children. It’s the perfect simple recipe for kids to help with, talk about measuring and counting, and they can use their hands to stir the cereal together!
